Low Tide
For the last several years, the focus of my art has been creating close-up nature scenes. I have been photographing melting snow forms and capturing floating leaves and water surface reflections in lakes and streams with an underwater camera.
The natural settings that I investigate and photograph for the Low Tide series are the Salish Sea beaches and tide pools. In my search for organic forms in the intertidal zone, I am enchanted by the patterns and colors that are revealed when the tide leaves marine algae and sea creatures exposed in pools and on beaches.
