The Last Dance
Images in The Last Dance were created during early autumn of 2012, when I spent time in the unseasonably warm Wenatchee River and Lake Washington with my underwater camera and found the first fall leaves floating in the water. Before the leaves sailed away down the turbulent river or ripped and sank in the waves of the lake, I photographed their swirly, transient autumn dance. Placing the camera below the surface, I found distortions and unusual forms that were created by the broken light rays.
